How To Take Care Of Your Teeth 🪥

  • Brushing

When brushing your teeth, you always want to make sure you have your tooth brush at an angle starting at your gum line. Once angles and on your gum line brush in a circular motion then flick down for you upper teeth. Same motion and angle for bottom teeth but just flick upwards. You can brush back and forth on the top parts of your teeth. Make sure when you are brushing to at least brush up to 2 min.

  • Flossing

When it comes to flossing, a lot of people don’t. It is important to floss at least twice a day or whenever you feel needed between meals not flossing can cause gum, cavities, plaque, gum inflammation, gum bleeding when brushing, and periodontal disease leading to bone loss. And that’s something we do not want. When flossing, your gums form a triangular angle in between your teeth. Within those lines you would want to floss. That being the front and back of the tooth. Do not take your floss and go straight down. You are cutting your gums and causing unnecessary damage to them. Be mindful that if you do not floss daily, your gums will bleed while brushing and flossing.

  • Mouth Wash

There are plenty of mouth washes out there for your teeth and gums. But make sure you get the correct one catered to your oral routine. Make sure you look for the active ingredients in your mouth wash. They play a major role in you oral health. Look for mouth washes that are alcohol free, has Fluoride, and xylitol. These help and protects your teeth from cavities.

  • Tooth Brushes

Does the type of toothbrush you have matter? The answer is YES!  The type of tooth brush you have matters. A lot plays into it. How hard or soft the bristles are, how hard you’re brushing, and if you have a manual or an electric toothbrush.

  1. Soft bristles: mostly used if you have very sensitive gums
  2. Medium bristles: is great for cleaning and enamel protection. It is not to hard or too soft
  3. Hard: Can be too rough on the gums and cause damage if too much pressure is applied.

Your tooth brush bristles should not look flared and scattered. If so you are brushing your teeth way too hard and applying way too much pressure. Please remember to replace your tooth brush or your tooth brush head every 3-6 months. There is not anything wrong with manual toothbrush but electric toothbrushes are more recommended for cleaning your teeth better and getting in-between your gums and teeth better with its vibrations.
